About Me

Thank you for taking a moment to visit my page. I’m glad you’re here.

I’m Anita Madhava, a holistic resident psychotherapist based in Northern Virginia. My path into this work has been shaped by a deep respect for human resilience and connection. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of supporting people through many stages and struggles—from my time teaching in education settings to volunteering with the Crisis Text Line, to guiding individuals through oncology yoga and mindfulness practices. These diverse experiences have shaped how I show up in the therapy room: with presence, openness, and deep respect for the stories people carry.

Whether it’s stress, anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected, I believe healing begins when we feel safe, seen, and supported. My work is grounded in the belief that each person’s path is unique—and that meaningful change happens through compassionate connection, not quick fixes.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I use an inclusive. person-centered, brain based holistic approach, weaving together evidence-based interventions that are tailored to meet you exactly where you are. Please feel free to visit the other pages to learn more about what I do and the support I offer.

And yes, that’s Wesley the dog in the photo! His simple presence is a gentle reminder of the power of unconditional love.
